Dear Marty,
I’ve been talking to this girl online a lot recently. Only problem is I live in NY and she lives in D.C. She keeps telling me to come visit. Should I make the trip or is it pathetic to travel that far to get some from a stranger?
Eh. A few thoughts here. Seems a bit far for me. You know me by now. I don’t really like leaving the house too much.
But aside from the distance, I don’t get what you mean by “you’ve been talking to a girl online a lot recently”. How? Where? Frankly this is very new and strange to me. I don’t think you should meet anyone you met online. Isn’t that a rule of thumb? Where are your parents? They say don’t meet your heroes but I think they should update that to don’t meet girls you met online.
Listen kid, I’m sorry to break it to you, but it’s not going to live up to your expectations. You’re better off never meeting and living in the fantasy world of “what could have been”.
I just miss the old days of going up to a girl at a bar and asking her how much her father is requesting to take her off his hands.
Tired,
Marty
