Late Thursday night, following game one of the NBA finals, multiple names were added to Golden State’s injury report. Coincidentally, each of these players was experiencing the same ailment: a bruised hand. All of these injuries were reportedly incurred some time between when the players left the court and prior to when they entered their locker room. Many believe the cause of these injuries stemmed from the post-game interaction with an overzealous Kevin Durant. Injuries were apparently sustained as he eagerly attempted to console his teammates in defeat.
When asked for comment shooting guard Klay Thompson said the following:
“Yeah I saw Kevin standing at the end of the tunnel like he has for every game. I could tell he was a bit uneasy knowing he would bear the full responsibility of making all of us feel better. I mean the guy was practically shaking. I went for our usual post-game handshake and he came in a bit too hot. Poor guy just wanted to help and he may have caused even more damage”
When approached about his teammates hand injuries Durant was struck with concern. He couldn’t stop asking reporters “was it their shooting hand?”
