It just seems a bit hypocritical, that’s all.
Monday is here and the regular office chit chatters have an even bigger pep in their step. Although they always talk to you about the weekend’s weather, this time it’s different. That’s because instead of talking about how cold it was in the winter or how hot it was in the summer they get the rare opportunity to talk about how HOT it was in the WINTER. And all I have to say to that is “you’re welcome and get out of my face”.
“Daniel why are you so mad? Isn’t this all so trivial?” Yeah sure it is, you’re right. It’s just that these same people are the ones that scold me for not recycling. I’ve made it clear many times that I’m in favor of global warming and I will do everything in my power to speed up the process. I get constantly berated for this. Fine, I’ll take my lumps. But, I will not stand to see the global warming warriors benefiting from the fruits of my labor. You don’t get to yell at me for not putting my plastic in the right bin and then also get a tan in January. Nope, it’s one way or the other, Sharon.
You think this is easy? You think it’s simple to just walk out of my way to throw plastic in a regular trash bin? It isn’t. Recycling bins are everywhere. I could take the path of least resistance. But no, I fight for the people that like a nice 60 degree Sunday in January.
I appreciate those of you who want to save the planet. I just ask that you stay inside while the rest of us put our winter jackets away for a weekend in the middle of January.
