I don’t want to be the one to ruin a “fun” thing. I also don’t want to write a piece dripping in bias (Tom Brady is the bain of my existence). But, can we all stop pretending that Tom Brady’s Twitter is this cute and fun thing.
I’m no dummy. I don’t think that anyone actually believes that Tom Brady is out here wasting time tweeting. You all probably want me to just shut up so that you can enjoy your fun thing. Here’s the problem though. The fact that he isn’t the one tweeting makes it soooo much worse.
If it was just our old friend Tom tweeting the crying laughing emoji in an attempt to be relatable than whatever. Lame but whatever. But the fact that he most likely has a full team running that account makes it so creepy. It’s like a team of scientists trying to make a robot seem like a human. No wait. It’s like a bunch of marketing executives trying to make a brand relatable. Oh no. It’s grosser than I thought.
Think about it. He’s tweeting his own draft picture like he’s totally cool with it and it’s funny.
You think this guy has a sense of humor? You think he’s able to laugh at himself. Ha!
And then he’s over here tweeting memes at online publications:
You think Tom Brady has ever read Bleacher Report let alone knows what this meme means? Give me a break.
And because all of that, Tom Brady is no different than Mr. Peanut. Or Denny’s. He’s just a brand trying to appeal to kids. Which makes sense. He wants TB12 to be Jordan when he’s done playing. This is just a strategic marketing move by the TB12 team to establish an online presence before he retires so that he can capitalize on the moment when he does. I honestly don’t care as long as this means he’s close to retirement.
