SHERPAS! I don’t know. I like the word. But more than that I’m all in on the sherpa jacket look. Have you seen these?
They’ve been popping up everywhere. I think they can be worn by both men and women but I’ve primarily only seen them on women. Come on fellas, grab ya self a sherpa.
I don’t know why I fuck with this look so hard. It’s not really that original. To me it falls under the same umbrella as “athleisure” in the comfortable style category. This genre has obviously become popular and comfy jackets in general are nothing new but there’s just something about the sherpa. The sherpa is special.
I’m not sure if it’s the material or the baggy build but something about it screams “I give the perfect amount of not giving a shit”. And isn’t that the summation of the fashion industry in a sentence. Who can look as chic as possible without looking like they tried at all. The designer’s tightrope. The sherpa walks it.
Quick pivot from the sherpa, as this blog has two points, to discuss this recent story about how Payless sold their affordable shoes to style influencers for insane price hikes under the fake brand name Palessi. I just wanted to quickly make the statement that (*setting myself up for an egg on my face moment*) THIS COULD NEVER HAPPEN TO ME. There’s absolutely no world that Subway Style gets tricked into this shit. The main reason being that I’m cheap as hell and I’m not paying $600 dollars for shoes even if they can fly (exceptions to be made if there are rollerblades in the heels). And for that reason, Subway Style is the number one place on the internet to get honest fashion advice from a dude wearing sweatpants he’s had since 10th grade.
