So this video of the Dobre Brothers at their Meet and Greet went viral:
First and foremost,
FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
I really shouldn’t know who the Dobre brothers are.
Second,
FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK
This sucks.
This is obviously so shitty. These are not good dudes. They don’t care about their fans. They simply care about squeezing as much money out of their moment as possible. Now, the internet has ripped them to shreds and skewered this video every way possible. But here’s one thing no one is talking about. Shouldn’t we blame the parents of the kids attending the meet and greet? Even just a little bit?
I mean I’ve only seen a tiny bit of the Dobre Brother’s content (see point one above) and I can tell you that it only takes one adult brain to know that these are not role models. These guys don’t have a talent. They aren’t funny or interesting. Their content is fake and shallow. They just fit in the niche but profitable category of “very hot to 14 year old girls”. If a parent paid for their kid to meet them then maybe they need to be held accountable for this experience as well. This is not to take blame off of these dickheads but you do kind of get what you pay for.
Now I understand how hard it must be to turn down a little girl who thinks these guys are her idol (read: boyfriend). As stated in Bo Burnham’s repeat stuff “and the parents will all come along, because their little girl is in love, and how could love be wrong, how could love be wrong, when you repeat stuff”.
But then again, my parents stopped me from watching Family Guy growing up. They were just like “no, you can’t watch that” and that was it. YouTube is the new TV and bad influence doesn’t need to come in the form of curse words or sexually explicit material. Bad influence can come from looking up to people that are… bad.
Anyway, here’s Bo Burnham’s “Repeat Stuff”
